Travis Terrell is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Soundstripe, an online platform offering royalty-free music, video, and sound effects via a unique subscription model that drastically simplifies the sync process for creative professionals of all kinds. As Co-CEO, he develops and oversees the company’s short- and long-term strategy, helping to lead the company to $6 million in financing in 2019. With an avid and loyal creator community, Soundstripe has seen triple digit year-over-year growth for the past several years.

Terrell brings his experience as a live performer, studio musician, producer, and film composer to Soundstripe. Fresh out of school and looking for adventure, Terrell sought out the live music scene in Nashville. He joined forces with Disney pop band Everlife, where he toured internationally. Looking to switch gears to the other side of the stage, Terrell became a crew member and tour bus driver for eight years, working with artists such as Alan Jackson, Aretha Franklin, and Phish.

In 2010, he decided to take up music production, where he partnered with Co-Founder and Co-CEO Micah Sannan. Terrell and Sannan produced artist records and commercial jingles for international brands like BMW and McDonald’s. During this time, they saw the industry evolving and songwriter royalties decreasing. With the help of Co-Founder and CTO Trevor Hinesley, the three formed Soundstripe to bridge the gap between music licensing for video and the new mass media market. As an entrepreneur, Terrell gives back by sharing wisdom and career advice on his blog about music, business, and creative living. He has been featured in Yahoo Business, Digital Music News, The Tennessean, and the Nashville Post and spoken at Venture Atlanta, NAB’s Media Motion Ball, NAMM, and Masters in Motion to name a few.
